When we first started building Clog Busters in Iowa, we knew that if we wanted to grow the right way, we had to be involved in the community—not just advertise to it.
Joining the Pleasant Hill Chamber of Commerce turned out to be one of the smartest decisions we made. Early on, our focus was not only selling drain-cleaning services. It was building trust, increasing awareness, and creating real relationships with local business owners. The Chamber gave us a seat at the table and helped us become a familiar face in the community.
Being present at Chamber events and consistently meeting other members helped Clog Busters gain name recognition faster than traditional marketing alone. People did not simply see our trucks—they learned who we were, where we were based, and that we were invested in Pleasant Hill.
That trust translated into growth. Referrals began coming from Chamber members, partnerships formed naturally, and our name became part of the conversation when people needed drain services.
Chamber membership also added credibility. It communicated that we were serious, local, and committed for the long term—an important distinction in a service business where trust matters.
The Chamber did not simply help us grow faster; it helped us grow smarter. Our relationship with the Pleasant Hill Chamber remains an important part of our success and demonstrates that investing in the local business community can produce real, lasting results.
